S-TEAM Selects Redfone and Avanzada7 for massive 900 channel Asterisk based Televoting Platform.
Miami, Fl- March 5, 2009
Portuguese company S-TEAM placed its trust in Redfone as a communication platform to offer interactive telephony services to the most important TV companies in Portugal. Avanzada7 designed and implemented a modern and reliable solution based on current technology.
Overview
S-TEAM has deployed an Asterisk® based telephony platform using multiple Redfone T1/E1 foneBRIDGE2 devices to handle 30 E1 lines (up to 900 concurrent calls). This platform provides TV & Radio stations with a televoting system to implement contests, polls and similar campaigns through a high-tech and reliable architecture.
The Need
S-TEAM needed a modern, robust and reliable communication system, in line with it's innovative image, and flexible enough to adapt to new features hard to obtain with proprietary systems. Horizontal scalability was crucial.
Avanzada7, a regional expert in building large open source based telephony platforms was chosen to build a complex and fully redundant telephony platform capable of handling hundreds of concurrent calls during peak times.
The Solution
4 HP Proliant Asterisk-based servers were used to handle the calls in an active/passive redundant system.
Servers were connected to 8 E1 Redfone foneBRIDGE2 gateway devices which provide PSTN connectivity and fast switching to the passive servers in the event of a failure on an active server node...
